The University of Colorado Boulder Army ROTC Department, Alpha Company, Commissioned another nine Cadets on Friday, May 6th during the end of the 2022 spring semester. The ceremony was held in-person on the CU-Boulder campus in the Old Main Chapel. The ceremony was also presented via a Zoom Meeting for those friends and family members that were unable to attend in-person.

The emcee for the days event was Cadet Ethan Martin (MSIII) with assistance from Cadet Brendon Himes (MSII). The officer in charge of the event was Captain Chris Head, the AROTC A-Company Senior Assistant Professor of Military Science (SrAPMS). Lieutenant Colonel Bryce Kawaguchi began the ceremony with a few opening remarks. Then the special guest speaker, Brigadier General Bren D. Rogers, addressed the Cadets with an uplifting speech.

The Cadets were officially sworn in as Second Lieutenants with the Oath of Office being administered by LTC Kawaguchi to seven of the Cadets and a friend or family member to the other 2 Cadets. Each individual 2LT had their rank pinned on their uniform by chosen friends or family members. A Non-Commissioned Officer of their choosing gave the first “Silver Dollar Salute.”
