New CU students interested in joining Army ROTC were invited to attend the AROTC Freshmen Orientation that happened during student move-in on Wednesday, August 17 through Friday, August 19, 2022. New Cadets were given the opportunity to meet their peers and upperclassmen during the three-day schedule of events. MSII (now MSIII) Cadet Samuel Patti was the company Cadet in charge of the entire planning and event scheduling for the orientation.

The orientation began on Wednesday with a short department overview and an outline of what to expect as a new Cadet. The Army ROTC PMS, Lieutenant Colonel (LTC) Bryce Kawaguchi made some brief comments to the freshmen as he was introduced to everyone. Those individuals that received 3- and 4-year scholarships were scheduled to meet with the HRA to fill out necessary paperwork and then meet with the Supply Tech to obtain their full Cadet uniform.

Thursday night activities wound down with a meet-n-greet informal pizza dinner in the Cadet Lounge. New students were given the opportunity to ask any questions they had to the upperclassmen and Cadre.

The new Cadets woke up early on Friday morning for a group run over to the Chautauqua Park trail and run up the main trail to the first flat outcropping. Cadets rested at the base of Chautauqua upon their return trip down to enjoy some fresh water/energy drinks along with some power bars, if needed. The Cadets made the return run to the campus after the short rest.
