Brian Crew

University of Denver, 1991
Hometown:  Denver, Colorado
Inducted February 2023

After earning his degree from the University of Denver, Brian was commissioned through GBB ROTC as a Second Lieutenant into the Armor Branch in 1991. He served four years as an Armor Officer, working as a Tank Platoon Leader, Company Executive Officer, BN S4 and BDE S4/AS4. Brian completed three rotations to NTC and was part of the first Tank Company tasked with standing ready for a no notice deployment anywhere in Europe.

After his time in the Army, Brian transitioned to the civilian sector where he achieved great success. He ran the largest industrial cylinder gas company in the U.S., BOC gases, generating over 100 million dollars in yearly revenue. He then managed all CO2 west distribution for Linde Gas before settling into early retirement. However, Brian continued to look for ways to do more to help others. Brian shared his generosity across several causes, including Wake Forest University, funding a community center in Key West, FL for underprivileged kids, and establishing a scholarship fund at the University of Denver for Veterans. Brian now focusses his support on a cause close to his heart, Charlie Company, GBB ROTC.

Brian and his wife, Debra (also a GBB Hall of Fame Inductee) started a fund in the fall of 2020 to provide support to Charlie Company and our Cadets. To date, this fund has provided seven financial grants to Cadets as well as money to upgrade our ROTC facilities. Also, Brian and Debra recently committed continued support for the next five years, including two yearly Cadet grants and increased financial support for training.

Brian and his wife recently moved to London, England, however, they maintain their residence in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Brian is an avid golfer and tennis player and returns to Florida when he misses the warm sunshine not available in London.
