Political Science, Asian Studies 

Jiun Bang joined the Colorado College faculty in 2021. Her research interests span a wide spectrum, ranging from International Relations Theory (IRT), conflict and diplomacy, geopolitics of Northeast Asia and gendered politics. Her current major project involves the commodification of nationalism: how people drink, eat, wear nationalism, and how this retains domestic public resonance for inter-state territorial disputes in Northeast Asia. 

Previously, she has taught at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Michigan, obtained a PhD in Political Science and International Relations from the University of Southern California (USC), MA in Security Studies from Georgetown University, and BA from Ewha Womans University in Seoul, South Korea.
