She/Her/Hers

Jerry Nguyen comes to us from the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences where she served as an undergraduate academic advisor for mechanical engineering students. Originally from Hue, Vietnam, Jerry immigrated to the United States in pursuit of her academic dreams. Jerry obtained a B.A. in public relations and marketing from Columbia College of Missouri and an M.S. in student affairs and higher education at Colorado State University. As someone with experience in DEI, housing, admissions, international education, academic advising and student ngagement, Jerry is excited to create spaces and programs that promote holistic student support, community resilience and social change through education.

As a first-generation immigrant and college student in the US, Jerry understands the nuances of the first-generation student experience and is committed to critically analyzing and removing systemic barriers to student success. She prides herself in cultivating meaningful connections with her students and making positive changes for her community. Outside of work, Jerry finds joy in the company of her partner and their beloved senior rescue dog, Chester (a delightful Husky-Pug mix, affectionately known as a Hug). She enjoys reading, cooking, baking and playing video games. Her current favorite book is “Babel” by R.F. Kuang, and her go-to game is “Zelda – Tears of the Kingdom.”
