Merve earned her B.A from Middle East Technical University (Turkey), majoring in English Language Teaching and minoring in Sociology. Subsequently, she completed her M.A in English Language Teaching at Boğaziçi University (Turkey). 

Her research interests center around digital discourse within the language-culture nexus, encompassing significant concepts such as interactional discourse, critical discourse, computer-mediated interaction, and identity. 

She is intrigued by the creative possibilities emerging from the multimodal affordances of the digital space. Additionally, she views creative and idiosyncratic digital communication not only as novel modes of expression but also unique empowering forms of expression celebrating individuality while fostering belongingness. Through these myriad ways of involvement in digital interaction, she aims to contribute to the ever-evolving understanding of the dynamic digital realm.
