A Queer Endeavor

Support educators to engage deeply with history as it relates to LGBTQ+ Latinx Colorado/ans! In this position, students will focus on House Bill 19-1192 which required revisions to the Social Studies standards in Colorado. As a team, we will focus on the standards particularly as they apply to Latinx LGBTQ+ Coloradans and CO history. The student researchers will lead this slice of the project.


Spanish Heritage/Bilingualism Project (Spanish Department)

Interested in helping develop a class for bilingual Latinx students at CU Boulder? Professor Tracy Quan will work with two student assistants to develop the survey for the new curriculum on heritage speakers at CU Boulder.


Museo de las Americas in Denver

Want to learn how to curate a Latinx museum exhibition in Colorado? The Museo de las Americas in Denver will welcome students to work in their offices of education, communication, collections, and exhibitions.


Chicano and Latino History Project

Would you like to work with Latinx communities and local historical organizations in Colorado? Help with building archival memories. Through partnerships with the Latino History Project, students will collaborate with Latinx community groups and local historical organizations and in so doing prepare a multimedia history of Latinxs and Indigenous Latinxs in Colorado. They will work with diverse Latinx communities on documenting, presenting, and curating cultural material.


Out Boulder County

Work with Out Boulder County as a Queer and Transgender People of Color (QTPOC) Program Intern to support programming and advocacy efforts as it relates to the QTPOC community. Additionally, the QTPOC program also provides the greater LGBTQ+ community with culturally relevant and educational programming centered around diverse cultures and racial identities.


Latinx in Colorado Symposium

Help organize a one-day symposium at CU Boulder focused on Latinx in the Colorado Borderlands. We will invite speakers, artists, filmmakers, activists, musicians, and more. Students are called to help with organizing the events and propose panels and roundtables on different topics related to Latinx students at CU and beyond, including topics such as DACA/dreamer, queer Chicanx-Latinx, femicides, self-care, social justice leadership, and community outreach.
