Suzette Malveaux, Provost Professor of Civil Rights Law and director of the Byron White Center for the Study of American Constitutional Law, spoke on a panel about social justice at the Mandela and the Law Conference, held Oct. 26 and 27 at the University of the Western Cape in South Africa.

A recent report examining the most-cited law professors in the area of evidence has named Professor Christopher B. Mueller as the seventh most-cited evidence faculty member at a U.S. law school, the third consecutive year Mueller has been included in the top 10.

In a landmark ruling, a Delaware court for the first time ever allowed a buyer to back out of a corporate acquisition pursuant to a "material adverse change" (MAC) clause in the merger agreement—a subject examined by Professor Andrew Schwartz in his 2010 article published in the UCLA Law Review.

Annual faculty awards go to Aaronson, Hendricks, Spain Bradley, and Speck

Associate Professor Harry Surden received the Provost's Faculty Achievement Award for his work on legal informatics, artificial intelligence, law, legal automation, and autonomous vehicles.

The U.S. Supreme Court cited an article written by Suzette Malveaux, incoming Provost Professor of Civil Rights Law and director of the Byron R. White Center for the Study of American Constitutional Law.

Associate Professor Kristelia García presented her article, "Copyright Arbitrage," 107 Calif. L. Rev. 101 (2019), at Yale Law School's Law & Technology Speaker Series in April 2018. The article was awarded the 2018 Institute for Intellectual Property and Information Law Sponsored Scholarship Grant from the University of Houston's IP Inn of Court for best paper in the category of Copyright, Entertainment, Media, Art, Design, and Sports Law.

On May 20, 2017, Dean S. James Anaya presented three awards for outstanding faculty scholarship at the third annual Faculty Scholarship Retreat, held at the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park.
