The Chancellor's Achievement Scholarship, introduced in 2005, awards $15,000 over four years to students whose academic qualifications put them in the top 25 percent of nonresident admitted students, and the Presidential Scholarship, introduced in 2006, awards $40,000 each to selected students from Chancellor's Achievement Scholarship winners.
Ralphie's Group and Community Visits

The Office of Admissions conducts campus visits for high school student groups consisting of eight or more people throughout the year except during January, May, and December. Visits may be scheduled on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. Visits consist of a campus tour led by a current student, followed by an information session led by an admission representative. A typical visit is two hours.

Students must be in high school. There must be one chaperone for every 20 students. If the group of students you would like to bring to campus are middle school or elementary school age, please contact the Office of Community Relations to schedule a more suitable visit at 303-492-8384 or visit www.colorado.edu/communityrelations/CU4K12.html.

Reservations are required for group visits and must be scheduled at least two weeks in advance. Earlier reservations are recommended to ensure the date that you prefer remains available. To make a reservation send an e-mail to DaSha Landry, Ralphie's visits coordinator, at dasha.landry@colorado.edu, or call her at 303-735-3110. Be sure to include:

  • your name
  • contact information
  • the date you would like to visit
  • number of students
  • age of students
  • group’s background
After your reservation has been made, a confirmation packet will be sent to you via e-mail with an agenda of your visit, directions, a campus map and parking information.

The Office of Admissions looks forward to hosting you!

Middle School and Elementary School Group Visits

The Office of Community Relations conducts campus visits for middle school and community groups throughout the year. We can arrange for a variety of experiences, including meeting with current CU-Boulder students, walking tours, science shows, and much more. There are funding options available to help offset the cost of outreach programming for your K-12 students.

Walking tours of the campus can include the University Memorial Center, the Student Recreation Center, the planet walk, visiting a model residence hall room, and the Norlin Quadrangle. Tour guides share their knowledge of the campus and its history. We encourage groups to bring brown bag lunches, visit the University Memorial Center food court, or make arrangements to eat in campus dining centers for a full campus life experience.

Call to reserve your preferred date – spring semester dates fill up quickly. Please plan on bringing one adult for every ten students in Grade 8 or lower. Reservations are required for campus tours and must be made at least two weeks in advance. To book your visit, call 303-735-0228. Include your name and contact information, as well as information on the group you are planning to bring to campus.

High School students interested in visiting the CU-Boulder campus should visit the prospective student visit programs page for more information on programs specifically designed for their interests.
