The largest library collection in
the Rocky Mountain region is located on campus. More than
11 million books, periodicals, government publications,
special and archival collections, audiovisual, and other
materials are available in Norlin Library and the business,
earth sciences, engineering, math/physics, and music libraries. |

Choosing an Academic Degree and Program
In the CU-Boulder graduate student classroom, students
take advantage of new data, ideas, and techniques from professors who
are actively involved in research and creative activity. Students choose
from a full array of high quality programs that lead to a wide range of
academic and professional opportunities.
Academic Degrees
The Graduate
School
The Graduate School offers 49 doctoral and 62 master's degree programs
and instruction leading to the following advanced degrees:
Master of Arts (MA)
Master of Engineering (ME)
Master of Fine Arts (MFA)
Master of Music (MMus)
Master of Music Education (MMusEd)
Master of Science (MS)
Doctor of Audiology (DAuD)
Doctor of Musical Arts (DMusA)
Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
Concurrent Bachelor's/Master's
Degree
A concurrent degree allows a student to receive both a bachelor's and
master's degree in five years of study without compromising the academic
integrity of either degree.
Dual Master's Degree Programs
A dual degree program allows a student to complete two degrees in less
time and with a reduced number of credits by combining work in related
or complementary majors. As with concurrent degrees, the integrity of
each degree is maintained.
Certificate Programs
The University of Colorado at Boulder also provides a growing number
of interdisciplinary and professional certificate programs at the graduate
level. These programs are available through a graduate department in
conjunction with a degree program or through the Division of Continuing
Education.

The Juris Doctor (JD) degree is the basic law degree and the only
one offered by the School of Law.
