Undergraduate Student Funding Possibilities—Transfers

  • International students are considered nonresident students and pay nonresident tuition rates.
  • To keep tuition costs down for nonresident students, the university has guaranteed a four-year fixed tuition rate for these students. Learn more >>

CU-Boulder offers two scholarships for transfer international students. See the list below to learn more:

  • The Norlin Scholars Program is a merit-based award of $3,000 per year.  The length of the award varies, and depends on the applicant.  A separate application is required and the deadline is February 1.  Further information can be found at the following website:  www.colorado.edu/norlinscholars
  • Athletic and Music Scholarships.  On occasion, the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, and the College of Music, offer full or partial scholarships for very talented individuals. For more information:

With the exception of a few scholarships for outstanding musicians and athletes, there are no international student scholarships available from the University of Colorado at Boulder that will cover the full costs for undergraduate students.  International students are not eligible for U.S. federal or state financial aid.

There are also books you can purchase that give you information on funding available for international students.  Funding For U.S. Study: A Guide for Citizens of Other Nations provides current information on grants and fellowships for study abroad. Grants range in value from $500 to tens of thousands of dollars. The book describes the size of awards and what they cover; eligibility;  application procedures; number of awards offered; purpose and duration; and complete contact information.
