College of Music

The College of Music curricula combine tradition with innovation and blends intensive music training with a solid liberal arts education. You'll be prepared for a career as performer, composer, scholar, teacher, administrator, or other professional.

Program: You can choose from three undergraduate degrees: Bachelor of Music, Bachelor of Music Education, or the Bachelor of Arts in Music. You may also elect a certificate program in Jazz Studies or Music Technology in conjunction with your degree.

Facilities: The college has several performance halls, including the 2,000-seat Macky Auditorium, the 500-seat Grusin Music Hall, the 250-seat Music Theatre, the 120-seat Chamber Hall, as well as a 4,300-square-foot instrumental rehearsal space in the Imig Music building.

Hands-on Learning: Two computer-assisted music laboratories are designed for instruction in music technology and music theory. The class piano laboratory features 13 digital pianos, and the two virtual practice rooms allow players to control acoustical ambiance.

Highlights: The Music Library, containing over 100,000 volumes, scores, recordings, and periodicals, is considered to be among the nation's most comprehensive.
