Welcome to CU Science Discovery,

a science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education outreach program at the University of Colorado Boulder. Science Discovery manages programs that engage K-12 students and teachers in STEM and connect public audiences with the STEM research happening at CU Boulder. Science Discovery programs utilize CU scientific expertise, equipment, resources and faculty, graduate and undergraduate students in order to provide participants with unique, experiential STEM learning experiences.

NEW in 2026: STEM Pathfinder Program

STEM Pathfinder Programs are two-week immersive experiences for high school students (rising 10th, 11th, or 12th grade students) designed to explore diverse fields within biosciences or engineering at CU Boulder.

Each participating CU Boulder department hosts high school students for two days, where they'll get an opportunity to dive in to hands-on activities, join lab tours, and engage in conversations with faculty and students. STEM Pathfinder Department Guides spearhead development and facilitation of their department's experience with support from Science Discovery staff.

Chill out with Science Discovery this winter as we dive into the coolest corners of the Arctic and Antarctic—where young explorers will investigate icy ecosystems, crack the code on extreme animal survival, and even engineer frosty feats like igloos. These single-day classes will be snowloads of fun, so register early to avoid missing out!
