"Educating the Heart and Mind: an afternoon talk with the CU-Boulder community"

  • Time: 1:30 p.m. Doors open at 12:30 p.m. Ticket office opens at noon.
  • Please be in your seats 15 minutes prior to start time.
  • Where: Coors Events Center, 950 Regent Drive, Boulder, Colorado.

Morning teaching: "Eight Verses of Training the Mind" with the Tibetan Association of Colorado

  • Time: Doors open at 7:30 a.m. Ticket office opens at 7 a.m. The Tibetan Association of Colorado program begins at 8:30 a.m. The Dalai Lama will take the stage at 9:30 a.m.
  • Please be in your seats 15 minutes prior to start time.
  • Where: Coors Events Center, 950 Regent Drive, Boulder, Colorado.

Security

Every patron entering the building will be screened. Please bring a government issued ID. All tickets must be presented at the door. 

The Coors Events Center complies with all TSA and Homeland Security prohibited items lists. 

Prohibited items include:

  • Alcoholic beverages or illegal substances and paraphernalia (including medical marijuana or associated marijuana products)
  • Sharp objects, including pocket knives of any kind or size. 
  • No Pepper Spray
  • Open bottles, cans, or glass bottles.
  • Umbrellas of any size
  • Firearms or weapons of any type (including handguns carried in accordance w/ the Colorado Conceal & Carry Act).
  • Designated artificial noise makers such as whistles or air horns and Laser pointers
  • Signs or flags on sticks or poles of any kind including Selfie Sticks (regardless of length)
  • GoPro Cameras
  • Any unapproved signs or banners
  • Footballs, Frisbees, inflatable balls, balloons, totems, or any sporting equipment.
  • Skateboards, skates, bicycles and non-ADA mobility devices
  • Fireworks, ammunition or any explosive material or liquid
  • Animals (with the exception of service animals)
  • Drones or any airborne items
  • No backpacks or messenger bags
  • No professional recording equipment – Photo, Video, or Audio (No detachable lenses, Tripods, Big Zooms, or Commercial Use Rigs)
  • No Flash photography
  • Bags bigger than 10” x 10” – Small single compartment soft sided bag or clutch purses OK

There is no storage space available on campus or in Coors Event Center, so please plan accordingly.

Parking and Traffic Impacts

The Dalai Lama events on Thursday, June 23, will impact traffic and parking from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Access to Regent Drive will be limited to permit holders displaying a CU-Boulder or Dalai Lama event parking permit. Traffic attendants will be located at the intersections of Regent Drive and Colorado Avenue, and Regent Drive and Broadway.

CU-Boulder permit holders may park in their permitted lot (except lot 420), however, heavy traffic congestion and limited parking will occur throughout the day. If you choose to remain in your permitted lot expect lengthy delays and plan your commute accordingly. Parking staff will be available to assist CU-Boulder and Dalai Lama parking permit holders. If you arrive later in the day or leave for errands or lunch, there may be no available parking in your permitted lot when you return.

CU-Boulder faculty, staff, students and visitors are encouraged to consider using alternative transportation. Options are listed on the PTS website.

Persons with disabilities who need parking arrangements not provided here may call Parking and Transportation Services at 303-492-7384, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for assistance.

Vehicles left in lot 308, 406, 412, 414, 416, 418, 436 and 491 after midnight June 22, will not be relocated, but access will be extremely limited until after 5 p.m. on June 23.
