No. 18: Leeds’ Highest Ranking Builds on Years of Momentum

Leeds reaches new heights with record-high rankings that reflect years of progress.

At Leeds School of Business, there’s no such thing as business as usual—just a continued emphasis on achieving excellence. And that commitment is getting noticed.

Leeds’ undergraduate program earned its highest-ever ranking today, tying for the No. 18 spot among public schools, according to U.S. News & World Report’s 2024 List of Best Colleges. Among both public and private schools, Leeds came in at No. 29, placing it among the top 3% of all accredited business schools of all 986 AACSB-accredited programs.

“Rankings are one of the many ways our peers recognize the quality educational experience offered at the Leeds School of Business,” said Tandean Rustandy Endowed Dean Vijay Khatri. “We’re proud Leeds is considered a leading business school, a title that comes not just from rankings but also the continued success and support of our community.”

In addition to the school’s rankings, several Leeds divisions earned accolades from U.S. News for the first time, including entrepreneurship and marketing.

Bloomberg also recently recognized Leeds as No. 64 overall on its list of the country’s Best B-Schools, a ranking of full-time MBA programs based, in part, on survey responses from students, alumni and employers. Leeds moved up by 11 spots this year and earned particularly high marks for its entrepreneurship programs.

On the Rise

Rankings are just the latest exciting news for Leeds in 2023. Over the summer, Khatri began his tenure at Leeds, stepping into CU Boulder’s first named deanship. Faculty research productivity was recognized with gains in the University of Texas at Dallas’ influential listing of top research schools, and students put their skills to the test in case competitions across the world—Business Buffs took first place in the 2023 UChicago Tradition Competition—ahead of the University of Chicago and Johns Hopkins University—and third place at the Venture Capital Investment Competition.

But Leeds has been on an upward trajectory far before this year, thanks to investments in recruiting and retaining high-caliber students and faculty; physical infrastructure; and forging deeper ties with business and industry in Colorado and beyond. This marks the sixth year in a row Leeds has been ranked as a top 25 public business program.
