BA in Computer Science

Our students learn computer science to explore the boundaries of computation while gaining a liberal arts education. Students are able to bridge the gap between technical skill and the humanities, allowing them to develop effective critical thinking skills.

Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science

The BA in computer science is intended for students who are interested in computer science, but also interested in a liberal arts education to complement their STEM studies. Students explore computer science, mathematics and the humanities with the goal of using computing to aid in the process of scientific discovery.

Academic Plan & Requirements

The BA in computer science requires fewer computer science courses than the BS program, but is supplemented with additional coursework from outside the College of Engineering & Applied Science. Students are required to select an additional area of study from any college or school at CU Boulder, which enables students to consider double majors, minors and certificate programs in other disciplines.
