Project Description
The goal of this project is to use novel, fully-printed organic electronic sensors to monitor the health of living plants and improve agricultural efficiency and productivity. In this project, the student will learn the following:
- how to use additive manufacturing processes to fabricate the printed devices,
- how to characterize the devices to optimize their sensitivity, selectivity and stability, and
- how to work directly with living plants, soils and hydroponic systems to correlate the device signals to the overall health of the growing plants.
Special Requirements
- Student ideally has some (can be minimal) lab experience
- Student must have junior or senior standing
Contact
- Greg Whiting (faculty)
- Elliot Strand (graduate student)
