With the fall 2020 semester underway, we have made major changes in our instruction and research to adjust to the world under COVID-19. As you have undoubtedly seen in your own jobs and lives, it has been a Herculean challenge. We have adopted strong physical distancing and mask requirements, but hands-on laboratory experiences are critical to Smead Aerospace, and these have been difficult to replicate in this new modality.
Late last year, Patrick Lueb (AeroEngr’89) was part of a plan. He was working with CU Boulder Advancement on a gift to sponsor student travel to Washington for a policy camp to give hands-on experience in the world of aerospace and government. Then COVID-19 hit.
CU Boulder and Lockheed Martin will lead a new space mission to capture the first-ever closeup look at a mysterious class of solar system objects: binary asteroids.
