Back in Boulder? Your summer campus guide

Whether you’re a local Buff or planning a summer getaway to the Rockies, visiting campus is a perfect way to enjoy Boulder and reconnect with your alma mater. From Shakespeare to Super Smash Bros., the campus offers fun activities for the whole family and entertainment for every interest.
Game on at the CU gaming lounge
Stop by the Alienware Buffalo Esports and Gaming Lounge in the University Memorial Center (UMC) to elevate your gaming experience. Featuring high-end PCs and console games, it’s the ultimate spot for friendly family competition or for showing the kids you’ve still got it.
Explore the stars at Fiske Planetarium
As the largest planetarium in the Rocky Mountain region, Fiske Planetarium welcomes the university community and public visitors to explore the Milky Way and much more. Summer programming includes full-dome films, live talks and laser shows set to everything from Pink Floyd to Taylor Swift.

Catch a show at the Shakespeare Festival
Since 1958, the Colorado Shakespeare Festival has celebrated Shakespeare with superior productions. This time-honored tradition brings Buffs and theater fans together each summer. This year, while the Mary Rippon Outdoor Theatre undergoes renovations, performances will be held at the Roe Green Theatre. Pack a picnic and enjoy a memorable night out.
Strike it up at The Connection
Head to the lower level of the UMC for bowling, billiards and ping pong. Home to Boulder’s only bowling center, The Connection is a great place to unwind, enjoy a cool beverage and challenge friends or family to a little friendly competition. You can even reserve the space for an event, complete with karaoke.
Get inspired at the CU Art Museum
Tucked inside the Visual Arts Complex, the CU Art Museum offers a growing collection of diverse aesthetic and cultural origins encompassing over 10,000 years of human history. You can explore the museum’s exhibits or attend a special event or program. Admission is free for this hidden campus gem.
Fuel up at the UMC

The University Memorial Center is still the heart of campus. Stop in for lunch at the food court or grab a coffee. Don’t miss the Veterans Lounge on the second floor, where you can see artifacts from the USS Colorado and displays honoring Colorado veterans.
Enjoy the beauty
Take time to appreciate the beauty that attracted you to CU Boulder in the first place. Walk around campus, explore familiar sights, see updated buildings and enjoy the beautiful views. Whether you climb the steps at Norlin Library or stroll past Folsom Field, you’ll find moments to reminisce and relive your time on campus. Bonus tip: Snap a photo at the Farrand Field Arch, where you’ll get the perfect backdrop of the iconic Flatirons.
