Students in the program are required to take a 6-credit (two-course) sequence outside of the Department of Applied Mathematics. Below are just a few of the many options to fulfill this sequence. Students may propose their own sequence, which will be subject to approval by the professional MS director.

  1. ECEN 5322 Search Engine & Analysis of High-dimensional Dataset, and ECEN 5612 Random Processes for Engineers.
  2. MSBX 5405 Structured Data Modeling and Analysis, and MSBX 5420 Unstructured and Distributed Data Modeling and Analysis.
  3. INFO 5602 Information Visualization and INFO 5613 Network Science
  4. Any CSCI course for which you have the appropriate background knowledge.
