Nicholas Puente (Archaeology, PhD Candidate) successfully successfully defended both his qualifying exam and research prospectus. He demonstrated his expertise on the cultural history of the Yucatan Peninsula, the use of Indigenous Maya ontologies in archaeological interpretation, and cave archaeology. A hearty congratulations from his committee members: Sarah Kurnick, Art Joyce, and Gerardo Gutierrez. He now advances to PhD candidacy.
