Hi, I'm Kirk (he/him/his)! I'm new to APS having just finished my degree in physics from Boise State University (class of 2020). I'm excited to explore the breadth of research opportunities APS has to offer -- this fall I'm working with Jason Dexter on a project tangentially related to the Event Horizon Telescope, and in the spring I'm excited to try my hand at solar physics working with Maria Kazachenko. I'm not sure where I'll end up, but I am passionate about the applications of high-performance computing to modern research problems that previously might have been considered impossible. In my spare time I like to play the piano (I have a minor in music!), read, do outreach, and work on silly pet projects (like my Twitter bot -- @ThreeBodyBot).
