Sierra Grove
Filmmaking

Sierra Grove (b.1998) is an artist working primarily in 16mm, video and handmade photo arts. Grove is interested in using experimental processes to reveal new visual/auditory poetic experiences. Over time, their art has evolved from linear narrative videos, to abstract 16mm loop performances. Their works are known to have an intimate, immersive quality and often investigate themes related to vision, ephemerality and the physical act of filmmaking. Engaging with elements of magic and science is something that is important to their physical process. Grove is passionate about serving the future of experimental media arts and does so by creating art and spaces that uphold values of creative liberation and accessibility. Grove is honored to be part of the CU Boulder community this Fall and is excited to further develop their professional goals as an artist, teacher and film archivist.
