Taite Shomo
Art History

Taite Shomo (she/they) is currently pursuing a MA in Art History at CU Boulder with a focus on medieval art history.  Taite has a joint BA in History of Art and Gender, Sexuality, and Feminist Studies from Middlebury College; for their undergraduate work, Taite focused on the ideological and subversive potentials in depictions of same-sex eroticism in medieval manuscripts and in 1950s lesbian pulp novels.  After working in immigration law for two years, Taite is excited to return to the world of art history, where she hopes to continue to focus on queerness, otherness, embodiment, and eroticism in medieval art.  Taite is also working towards the Graduate Certificate in Women and Gender Studies (WGST) to supplement their art history education.
