HyunJoo Oh received a PhD in Technology, Media & Society. She was co-advised by Mark D. Gross, professor of computer science and director of the ATLAS Institute, and Michael Eisenberg, professor of computer science. HyunJoo holds two master’s degrees: one from Carnegie Mellon University in entertainment technology and one in media interaction design from Ewha Woman’s University, South Korea. She works on digital craft, tangible interaction and creative play. By encouraging deep engagement in playful environments, she seeks to inspire children to actively explore their ideas, while bridging the digital and physical worlds. HyunJoo is currently an assistant professor at the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech), with a joint appointment in the School of Industrial Design and the School of Interactive Computing.
