MSE Areas: Self-organization, swarm intelligence

Correll is interested in diffusing the boundary of computer and material sciences by deeply embedding sensing, actuation, computation and communication into polymer materials. By this, computers will become materials and materials computers. Correll addresses this by studying “swarm intelligence” and experimenting with macroscopic instances of smart materials ranging from robot swarms to intelligent cloth.
