Jim Linfield serves as Managing Partner of the Colorado office of Cooley Godward Kronish LLP. His practice focuses on representation of public and private technology companies and venture capital funds, with an emphasis on corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions and strategic alliances. He advises start-ups, venture-backed companies, public entities and investors across a wide variety of industries, including biotechnology, medical devices, information technologies clean technologies, and natural and organic products. He is a member of the Executive Committee of the Colorado BioScience Association as well as a member of the Board of Directors of the Boulder Innovation Center, a Trustee of the University of Colorado Foundation and member of the Boards of Advisors of the Deming Center for Entrepreneurship, the Silicon Flatirons Program and the Technology Transfer Office. Jim helped found and is a current Executive Committee Member of the Colorado Cleantech Industry Association. Prior to joining Cooley, Jim served as Chief Financial Officer and General Counsel of Somatogen, Inc. and was with the Denver law firm of Davis Graham & Stubbs. Jim earned his A.B. magna cum laude from Harvard College and his J.D. magna cum laude from Harvard Law School.
