  • How do microbial and chemical processes interact on the Earth’s surface today? How have they shaped our planet throughout its history?
  • How do the life styles and chemical ingenuity of microorganisms and their enzymes drive key biogeochemical processes?
  • How do major geologic and evolutionary events play out through the lens of microbes and the biomarker evidence they leave behind?

Prerequisites: CHEM 1113/1114 OR CHEM 1400/1401
Plus recommended any one of: GEOL 1180, MCDB 1150, EBIO 1210, GEOL 3320, EBIO 3400, ENVS 4160, EVEN 4484

This course is a Team Based Learning (TBL) Active Classroom
