Research Opportunity: Cold Weather Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) Research Volunteer

The University of Colorado School of Medicine is recruiting pre-med and med students to assist as volunteers with a study on the effects of cold on Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC).  The study will take place January 8-26 at the National Ice Core Facility in Lakewood, Colorado.

To participate volunteers will need to commit to assisting for a minimum of 3 full days (8 am to 5 pm).   

Volunteer Research Assistants will conduct a number of tasks including setting up and taking down research stations, welcoming, escorting, and instructing research subjects, assisting research subjects in tasks, data collection, and helping research team leaders in other duties as assigned.  

Participants will be expected to lift heavy objects (50 lbs and more) and will be exposed to cold temperatures (-11 degrees F.) for up to an hour at a time.  Training and cold weather clothing provided.
