"It’s the craziest thing I have ever done in my life," leading entrepreneur Matt Cutter shares his personal experiences on the latest Creative Distillation research podcast.

Creative Distillation

Taking a slightly different approach to the Creative Distillation research podcast, hosts Brad Werner and Jeff York are joined by students from the inaugural Executive MBA Program at Leeds and Upslope Brewing Company founder Matt Cutter for a Q&A session and curated tasting.

Entrepreneur and founder Matt Cutter is no stranger to CU Boulder, Leeds, the Deming Center and the Creative Distillation research podcast, having been a guest on Episode 9 - Innovation in Beer Brewing, and Gene Patents. And his story, going from software project manager to founder of an award-winning brewery, was featured in this Boulder Weekly article and is the stuff of legends.

In the latest podcast Leeds’ Executive MBAs pull no punches asking Matt about operations, product management his early life as a founder/entrepreneur with a family, and his bold decision to walk away from a successful career in pursuit of his brewing dreams.

Matt’s openness in sharing the details of his early struggles as a start-up, challenges faced while securing funding to support growth and even sharing the process of deciding when to leave a successful career in technology delivers insightful take-aways and lessons shared.

“I actually remember talking to my dad and him saying, ‘you know, at some point, the breweries gonna lose, because you're not in there 100%.”

Cutter said.
