Biography

Craig A. Stephenson is a Senior Instructor of Finance at the Leeds School of Business, University of Colorado Boulder. 

Professor Stephenson was raised in Littleton, Colorado, and received his B.S. in Finance from the University of Colorado Boulder.  He worked for an oil and gas exploration company in Denver before receiving his M.B.A. in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin, and subsequently worked in the C.F.O. organizations at Phillips Petroleum Company, Texas Instruments, and Dell Computer Corporation.  He received his Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Arizona, and has been a member of the faculty at the University of Wisconsin, Babson College, and the M.I.T. Sloan School of Management. 

Professor Stephenson’s teaching and writing focuses on financial management, strategy, and markets.  He has published seven cases through Harvard Business School, and he is the recipient of an honorary degree from the Babson College graduating class of 2004, awarded to the undergraduate professor of the year.
