Biography

Micah McGee is an Assistant Teaching Professor in Information Management and Analytics teaching primarily Python and Business Data Management (SQL) at the undergraduate level and Survey of Business Analytics at the graduate level. Micah considers himself a “pracademic” for his educational and work experiences which allow him to bring both a theoretically sound academic perspective as well as an applied business perspective to the students in his classes. His doctoral work and over fifteen years of business analytics experience have helped develop a working knowledge of data analytics which includes the communication skills necessary to work with executives in implementing change based on data analysis.

Blending his passion for sports and analytics Micah also serves as a research advisor and lecturer in the Business of Sports Certificate program as well as the Director of Analytics for CU Athletics. Micah has helped develop an analytics strategic plan to apply data-based decision making for business related projects as well as in-game strategy. This involved developing the short and long term strategic ticketing and revenue management plans, tracking and analyzing appropriate metrics to support sales and marketing campaigns, managing sales driven analytics through the use of multiple database platforms, and working with coaching staffs to develop analytic strategies to help CU win games.
