Gerardo was born and raised in northeast Denver to Mexican immigrants from Chihuahua Mexico. Gerardo is a first-generation college graduate with a bachelor's degree in international studies and ethnic studies at the University of Colorado Denver with a focus on Latin America. Gerardo has an MA in Higher Education Diversity and Higher Learning from the University of Denver. As a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion specialist Gerardo has dedicated his career to developing inclusive recruitment practices for underrepresented applicants. Gerardo is a Program Manager for the Leeds School of Business Office of Diversity Affairs where he manages diversity recruitment, outreach programs and serves as a career coach to underrepresented students of color looking to enter various business and technology fields. Outside of Leeds, Gerardo enjoys working as a DEI consultant, working out, coffee, and traveling.
