John is a Teaching Assistant Professor of Marketing at Leeds. He teaches courses spanning a variety of marketing and broader business areas. John combines academic insights with practical expertise gained from more than 20 years of professional experience. 

Prior to joining Leeds, John founded and managed Modern Homestead, a design and general contracting firm based in Boulder. Before his work as an entrepreneur, he spent 12 years working in senior leadership positions for technology companies such as Google and Twitter. John led teams across the United States, Europe, and Latin America, overseeing functions such as sales, marketing, operations, and product strategy. 

Before turning to the world of business, John began his career practicing law. He was a trial attorney at the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia and an associate at the law firm of Williams & Connolly. 

John received his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and his B.S. from the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service. John was Senior Editor of the University of Pennsylvania Law Review and clerked for Chief Judge Michael Boudin of United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.

Beyond his professional endeavors, John is an avid endurance athlete and triathlete and has finished multiple Ironman races.
