Julie Zafiratos serves as an Assistant to the Dean at the Leeds School of Business. She grew up in Corvallis, Oregon, where her father worked at Oregon State University until moving to University of Colorado, Boulder to become a faculty member in the Physics Department here. Julie attended Santa Clara University and Colorado College before returning to Boulder to finish her degree in Journalism at CU.
After college, Julie moved to San Francisco and traveled to Australia and Europe before starting her journalism career in advertising at J. Walter Thompson. Following a few years in advertising and working in merchandising and marketing at internet startups in the Bay Area, she moved to Los Angeles to spend several years freelancing in movie, television and digital video production management.
2015 brought her to California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo where she began working in academia, a rewarding vocation that she is happy to be able to continue here at the Leeds School of Business at CU. Julie is glad to be staying in Boulder, reconnecting with old friends, being near family, and enjoying all of the natural beauty that the seasons of Colorado have to offer. She is a former yoga teacher who loves cooking, reading, and her mostly tame but wholly adorable feral rescue cat.
