Prior to founding Viver Properties in 2020 he was based in Houston as an officer with Hines, a global real estate investment firm. Currently overseeing all aspects of the Viver platform, expansion to new markets, syndications, capital raising and the upcoming launch of Viver Fund I, he is also working on Hausrev, a proptech new app that allows tenants to review and rate rental properties, increasing transparency for tenants, lenders, investors, managers and other agents in the very opaque detached student housing market. Karlston graduated with a BBA from Universidade Sao Judas Tadeu in Sao Paulo, Brazil and has an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth where he graduated in 2006. He created and taught the International Private Equity/Real Estate elective for several years at the Jones School of Business (Rice MBA), is a case competition judge at the Klump Center for Real Estate at the Leeds School of Business at CU Boulder and is a member of the Latin American Council at the Tuck School, where he is also a guest lecturer.
