Assistant Director, Leeds First Year Experience
Undergraduate Programs

Marcus serves as the Assistant Director of Leeds First Year Experience. A North Carolina native, he earned his B.S. in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke and earned his M.A. in International Studies from East Carolina University. Prior to his career in higher education, he spent a year abroad in Daejeon, South Korea, teaching English in a public middle school. He worked for both Murray State University in Murray, KY and American University in Washington, DC supporting international students and English language learners before shifting to academic advising at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC.

Marcus loves to spend time with his two brothers also living in the Denver area. He has a passion for coffee and uses it as a means for city discovery. Although he is new to Colorado, he’s quickly fallen in love with the culture, trading in his old car for a Jeep Wrangler, adopting Denver sports teams, and enjoying locally brewed hazy IPA’s.
