Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) Student Chapter Meeting with JE Dunn Construction on Tuesday, November 2 @ 7:00 PM (MST) in ECCE 1B41.

JE Dunn Construction is an employee-owned company that has presence in 23 states in the United States with work in over 24 different markets. Diversity and Inclusion plays a key role at JE Dunn. For this reason, it has implemented its Minority Contractor Development Program in which it has been able to train minority groups and women from around the country on business and leadership skills needed to compete in the construction industry.

Most Global Seminars are open to all majors, unless otherwise specified, and offer an excellent opportunity for students to learn on-site from CU Boulder faculty in an intimate class setting (typically 10 to 25 students). Many application deadlines are February 1^st or March 1^st, however some program deadlines are as early as November and we recommend students to apply early as programs can fill before the deadline.

• Brazil: Conservation Biology & Practice in Brazil’s Atlantic Forest (EBIO 4340/ENVS 4340) - Nov. 2 at 3:30 pm onZoom. Obtain hands-on experience in principles and practice of conservation biology. Learn about Brazil's other tropical forest––the Atlantic Forest, a threatened center of faunal and floral biodiversity. This program will be run either on-site or virtually in summer 2022, depending on the status of COVID-19 in Brazil. Learn more at the Nov. 2 Zoom info session.
• South Africa: Entrepreneurship & Empowerment (INBU 4925/EMEN 4830) - Nov. 3 at 5 pm on Zoom. Be part of a consulting team working with local entrepreneurs in the townships of Cape Town and study alongside South African students at University of Western Cape. • Tanzania: Conservation & Indigenous Peoples (ANTH 4020) - Nov. 3 at 4 pm on Zoom. Study in a spectacular, peaceful African country famous for being the site of the largest wildlife migration on earth and home to Kilimanjaro, the tallest mountain in Africa. Live amongst Indigenous groups such as the Maasai and Hadzabe people, and learn about political ecology, culture, development and globalization. • Italy: Culture Wars in Rome (ENES 3700) - Nov. 3 at 5:30 pm on Zoom. This two-week program in May accommodates your summer schedule and allows time for potential independent travel after the program, directed by Professor Paul Diduch, who loves to share his expertise and will convince you that Culture Wars is, by far, the best way to experience Rome! • Italy: Dante in Florence (ITAL 4147) - Nov. 3 at 4 pm on Zoom. Explore Dante's most fantastic images in the Inferno, formed through references to the medieval art and architecture in Italy. Participate on day excursions to Pisa, Monteriggioni, Siena, Montaperti, and San Gimignano. Earn A&S Gen Ed: Arts & Humanities upper-division credit. No previous knowledge of Italian required. • France: French Connections (IAFS 3500) - Nov. 4 at 4 pm on Zoom. Learn from French professors the pressing issues and current events affecting one of Europe’s most influential countries. • France: Underground Paris (FREN 3450) - Nov. 9 at 5 pm on Zoom. Wander the literal “underground” of Paris through its catacombs, jazz caves and metro while exploring the figurative “underground” of Paris’ history. • Portugal: Lisbon as a Global City: Cosmopolitanism, Diversity & Innovation (PORT 3170) - Nov. 10 at 4:30 pm on Zoom. Explore the cosmopolitan and multicultural city of Lisbon. Classes will include field trips to emblematic buildings, monuments and museums. Understand how multicultural heritage can shape sustainable and socially responsible organizations and enterprises.
