- CAAAS GRADUATE FELLOWS

Nwaozor Gift is a PhD student in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Colorado Boulder. She had her undergraduate studies in Nigeria in 2023, after which she moved to the US to pursue a PhD. Her research interest lies in bioethics, which is an aspect of philosophy that deals with the ethical issues that arise in medicine, biology and biotechnology. She is also interested in African philosophy, particularly the aspect that examines Africa's contemporary issues. Currently, she is working on formalizing the informal pre-colonial African apprenticeship system to promote wealth distribution in Africa. Gift is also a great teacher, and this is evidenced by the recognition she got recently as one of the runners up for the Claudia Mills award for the best teaching assistant in the Department of Philosophy at CU Boulder.
