Application Ready! helps you prepare to apply to U.S. universities. You’ll learn about the U.S. higher education system and application process and take virtual campus tours. You’ll interact with college admissions representatives, who will share standout strategies and tips for creating a winning application. Current undergraduates will tell you all about studying at a U.S. university so that you know what to expect once you get here. The course focuses on test preparation and work on the personal essay, based on your needs. Online classes are fun and engaging, including activities and projects where you collaborate with classmates from all around the world. To participate, students must:
 

  • Be a current high school student between the ages of 15-18.

  • Reside outside of the United States and be a citizen of a country other than the United States (U.S. citizens are not eligible).

  • Be a non-native English speaker with at least intermediate-level English.

Overview 

Application Ready! helps international high school students prepare for college admissions in the U.S. From test preparation and guidance with the application process, to virtual campus tours and interaction with current undergraduates, participants gain understanding and insight into the U.S. higher education system while engaging with students from around the world. Participants will:

 
Learn about the U.S. university system and college application process.

 

 
Meet international undergraduates currently attending U.S. universities

 

 
Write a strong personal essay draft for college applications

 

 
Learn effective test-taking strategies

 

 
Engage in question and answer sessions with college admissions representatives.

How to Apply:

  1. Check that you meet at least an intermediate level of English by downloading this recommendation form for your English teacher or advisor to complete and send back to us, or click CEFR Self-Assessment below, find the level that matches your skills in each category and email the results to ieccu@colorado.edu.
  2. Click the Apply here button below to download and complete the application and email a copy, along with a photocopy of the identification page of your passport or national ID card to ieccu@colorado.edu.
  3. Pay your $125 nonrefundable enrollment deposit.
  4. Receive an email with instructions on how to pay your remaining tuition.
