Fatma Köroğlu

Fatma is a Professional Masters student in Global Engineering. She has a BS in Management Engineering from Istanbul Technical University (2015-2021) and also studied Business and Economics at the University of Wuerzburg as an Erasmus student for two semesters (2018-2019). She has volunteered in China (2016) and India (2017) through AIESEC projects teaching English and blogging about Indian culture and society. During her Erasmus studies in Germany (2019) she created a theatre play about women's sexuality. During 2020 & 2021, she had a business development internship with the Foundation of Support of Women's Work in Turkey helping to create jobs for low-income and immigrant women. Fatma's work included data analysis of the program's beneficiaries in order to design relevant projects. She also has researched and published on social impact measurement in women's empowerment NGOs and machine learning fields. 

After her full-time jobs at NielsenIQ and IDC as a consultant, she is exicted to return to academia to work in development. Currently, she is part of the Mortenson Center team working for the Deloitte-led USAID-funded project "Armenia Improved Water Management for Sustainable Economic Growth". Fatma is excited to be a part of the Mortenson Center due to her passion for change. She wants to combine her analytical skills with her activism to be a part of the solution. She is involved in data-driven solutions, social impact analysis and excited to explore more areas to broaden her perspective.

Fatma is also an actor and musician. She plays ukulele, writes songs and composes them. She loves sculpting and oil painting too  and chooses her artform based on what feels right to express a particular idea.
