Greetings from COSGC,
It is amazing that my first year as Director is complete and we are well into year two! Having been an Affiliate Director for many years, I was aware of many things that make COSGC great. It was an excellent starting place, but there was so much more for me to learn. I am so lucky to have such a wonderful staff, family of Affiliate Directors, alumni and students to help guide the way as I learn and develop in this role. We maintained our long tradition of hosting statewide events, having great participation in multiple DemoSat launches, our Robotics Challenge and the Statewide Research Symposium last spring. In addition though, we launched a brand-new summer research initiative, which we will be hosting again this year. I participated in my first National Space Grant and NASA meetings and learned so much from my fellow State Directors. I am also learning the ins and outs of our home institution, CU Boulder, so I can better navigate and manage this amazing program. I hope you all will take the time to come up and visit us at our Space Grant offices. I am working hard on making new connections and partnerships which will help us fulfil the vision of our new Strategic Plan, recently approved by our Advisory Board and Affiliate Directors. These are exciting times for NASA, higher education, and the aerospace industry, and I can hardly wait to see what is around the corner.
