Alan Cohen was born and raised in Nebraska and currently lives in Denver and Tucson. He recently retired from the presidency of Iron & Metals, Inc., a Denver scrap metal processing and recycling firm. He has been actively engaged in Western economic and political issues for several decades. He strongly supports the Center’s efforts to bring all interested parties together in the examination of issues that face us who live in the West. Originally trained as an economist, Mr. Cohen has turned his main intellectual interest toward the economic history of the American West.
