Born in Colorado Springs, Katie earned a B.A. in history and a B.S. in journalism from the University of Colorado-Boulder, an M.A. in curriculum and instruction from the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs, and is currently completing an M.A. in history at the University of Colorado-Boulder as a James Madison Memorial Fellow.
