Boulder, CO

Kit Armstrong is an environmental engineer, a lifelong denizen of the American West, and an alumnus of the Center’s undergraduate certificate program. In 2017, he received the Beardsley Family Scholarship and a Thompson Award for Western American Writing in poetry. Kit’s certificate capstone, supervised by Patty Limerick, was an independent study into queer belonging in the historical and contemporary West. Since leaving CU and entering environmental consulting, other “independent studies” have followed in photography (travel on the rural plains) and poetry (erasures of pop country lyrics), among other projects. Kit lives and works in Boulder, Colorado.
