Guidelines

  • While proposals do not need to be tied to thesis projects, priority will be given to projects that enable students to work on and complete their capstone projects. You may submit an application at any time during your MFA/MM career
  • Projects need to be funded during the current academic year
  • We are intentionally keeping the language open to support the varying needs of CU Boulder’s MFA/MM students. If you have questions, please ask! Our hope is to support expenses that your department cannot internally fund in full
  • Students are limited to one MFA/MM Excellence in Research award per academic year
  • A detailed budget and advisor approval are required.

Application Procedure

  • Proposal and Budget: Up to a 3-page PDF (single or double spaced). Include a detailed budget and links to work/websites where applicable. PDF file must be less than 2 MB.
  • Supporting Documents (optional): Upload supporting documents such as mockups, receipts, email confirmations, resumes if seeking honoraria support, etc. PDF file smaller than 2MB.
