Professor Alan Weimer has received the 2015 AIChE Nanoscale Science and Engineering Forum (NSEF) Award for his innovative nanoengineering work.

“The Award is presented to recognize Weimer’s pioneering contributions to the functionalization of fine particles by atomic layer deposition (Particle ALD) and the engineering scale-up of the processing,” stated the award committee.

Each year, AIChE's NSEF acknowledges the contributions of engineers and scientists to the field of nanoscience and engineering with two awards, the Forum Award and the Young Investigator Award. The Forum Award recognizes outstanding contributions in the advancement of nanoscale science and engineering in the field of chemical engineering through scholarship, education or service.

Weimer will be honored at the 2015 AIChE Annual Meeting in Salt Lake City, where he will present an award lecture in the NSEF Plenary Session on Monday, November 9, 2015, at 8:30 AM.
