Danielle BenoitDanielle Benoit (PhD ChemEngr’06), a former doctorate student under the advisement of Professor Kristi Anseth, was chosen by the Cellular and Molecular Bioengineering Journal as a 2015 Young Innovator.

Now an Associate Professor at the University of Rochester, Benoit works on controlling biomaterial functionality and architecture to treat diseases and control cell behavior.

On the award website, Benoit was cited for her “methods of parthenolide delivery using micelles for the treatment of acute myeloid leukemia while overcoming the problem of rapid clearance from the blood.”

Benoit will be recognized and present her work on Friday, October 9 at 8 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. at the 2015 Annual Biomedical Engineering Society Meeting in Tampa, Florida.
