    The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering continued to gain national recognition for the quality of its graduate school education, earning the No. 14 (tie) spot overall in the U.S. News and World Report’s Best Graduate School rankings for chemical engineering for 2022.

    The department moved up two spots from No. 16 (tie) overall from the 2021 rankings, and remained in the No. 10 spot for public chemical engineering graduate programs.

    “Our high and improving ranking reflects both the continued success of faculty who have spent lengthy careers at CU Boulder and our recent high-profile hires of truly outstanding faculty who are new to Boulder,” said Professor Will Medlin, Chair of the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering.

    Medlin said that one of the department’s key strengths in attracting top talent is its strong collaborations with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, the BioFrontiers Institute and the Materials Science and Engineering Program, among others.
