Several graduate students and faculty members from the College of Media, Communication and Information were on hand this week to take part in the ongoing MediaLive 2017.
Hosted by the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art (BMoCA) and curated by Intermedia Art, Writing and Performance PhD student Maya Livio, the sixth annual MediaLive festival features performances, installations, screenings, panel discussions and a workshop, all exploring digital culture and media art.
Critical Media Practices assistant professor Erin Espelie, Journalism assistant professor Mei-Ling McNamara, Advertising, Public Relations and Media Design visiting professor Jolene Fisher and recent media and public engagement MA graduate Alex Pilnick all served as panelists on Tuesday for a discussion of the Dutch film Information Skies.
In addition, the CMCI’s Media Archaeology Lab is hosting a week long exhibition with interactive video games at BMoCA. Other events run every evening at 6:30 p.m. through Sunday, culminating with a special outdoor screening in Boulder Central Park featuring artists Shia LaBeouf, Rönkkö & Turner on Sunday.
